As the State of CT and Town of Fairfield are in phases of reopening many businesses and activities, we want you to know that our church leadership is monitoring the situation constantly, staying up to date on CDC guidelines, other churches in our Presbytery and organizations in town. We are wholeheartedly committed to the wellbeing and safety of our church family and the community we are called to serve. While our in-person programming and worship will remain suspended for the time being, we are prayerfully discerning our next steps, and we are hopeful that it will be safe for us to gather in person again soon. We will do our best to keep you updated as the situation evolves. In the meantime, please take advantage of the many opportunities to stay connected through the Firstpresby website (firstpresby.net), YouTube, Facebook and Zoom conferencing.
The session met Sunday June 28 via zoom to receive the confirmation class into membership. Under normal circumstances this would have been done at the end of March and the confirmands would have been presented to the congregation on April 5. This is a special group of young people and it has been a privilege to know them and work with them.
The 2020 Confirmation Class is: Caroline DiGiulio, Sophia DiLorenzo, Dumeto Oraedu, Kobi Oraedu, Lindsey Perry, and Keira Randolph. Congratulations to all six and their families. They will be presented to the congregation during this Sunday's virtual service.
We give God the thanks and glory for Mike Bonaffini who received a kidney on Friday after almost six years on dialysis. Mike received a call Thursday night and underwent surgery on Friday. All is going well with his recovery and we continue to pray for comfort, strength, and well being. We also want to pray for and give thanks for the organ donor and family who made this possible. May they feel a sense of comfort for giving Mike the most wonderful gift of life without dialysis.
Wednesday Bible Study at 10:30 amand 7:00 pm. One (The Woodlawn Study)
In 1973, Birmingham, AL was torn by racism and hate. God worked through the Woodlawn High School football team to unite the city and ignite a spiritual awakening. This revival was nothing short of miraculous. Could it happen again? ONE(The Woodlawn Study) features powerful scenes and exclusive footage from the movie Woodlawn to discover the answer...it only takes one person to start a revolution. What if that person is you? With teaching by Pastors Dave Stone and Dr. Tony Evans, ONE(The Woodlawn Study) prepares your heart to experience and embrace a move of God.
This Monday will be the last session of The Reason for God study. We will be exploring: "How Can God Send Good People to Hell?" This Right Now Media study captures live and unscripted conversations between Rev. Keller and a group of people to address their doubts and objections to Christianity. Using literature, philosophy, and Scripture, Keller and the group explore the truth of Christianity.
Join Bridget Perry and Clare Schimpf for an hour Monday at 4:00 pm for a 20 minute video online followed by a 40 minute discussion via Zoom*. All are welcome.

A Message from the Deacons
Each month, a member of the Board of Deacons will be on call for the congregation. If you have an immediate need, crisis or illness, you may choose to call the deacon, instead of, or in addition, to the pastor or your own zone deacon. The DOC will notify the pastor and depending on the need, will convene the Deacons to brainstorm possible solutions and ways to assist you with your need.
Many thanks to all the deacons for their faithful role in caring for our congregation during this challenging time.
