Dear Friends,

Yesterday we said farewell and Godspeed to Erik for his 5 years as Discipleship Director here at FPC. I am thrilled for Erik and I know God has great things in store for him over the next several decades.

This week our focus is on Rev. Greg Penza and welcoming him, Melissa and family to FPC. I know the PNC is very excited to introduce you to Greg and for good reason. He will do great things for God here. FPC will be blessed to have him as pastor. However, Greg will also be blessed to be called as your pastor. You are a special people and I am confident you have a bright future ahead of you. Please welcome Greg and Melissa with open arms as you did with Leslie and me.

Next Monday’s e-letter will be my last one as Leslie and I head to MS on August 1. Until then you are in my prayers.

Stay safe and God’s blessings,

The PNC is encouraging all members to LIVE Zoom this coming Sunday’s worship service and Congregational meeting immediately following.   You will be introduced to Greg Penza, our nominee for called pastor, and hear why the PNC felt he is the best candidate for our church.
In Presbyterian polity, it is the Congregation's privilege and sole responsibility to call a pastor and approve the compensation. Please exercise that privilege and joy, and participate this Sunday if you are able.  Let us all be together to celebrate this momentous occasion for our church.
The last Wednesday Bible Study at 10:30 am and 7:00 pm.
One (The Woodlawn Study)

In 1973, Birmingham, AL was torn by racism and hate. God worked through the Woodlawn High School football team to unite the city and ignite a spiritual awakening. This revival was nothing short of miraculous. Could it happen again? ONE (The Woodlawn Study) features powerful scenes and exclusive footage from the movie Woodlawn to discover the only takes one person to start a revolution. What if that person is you? With teaching by Pastors Dave Stone and Dr. Tony Evans, ONE (The Woodlawn Study) prepares your heart to experience and embrace a move of God.

Children's virtual Sunday School
In July, we're continuing our Summer Sunday School Series learning how everything changes when we "focus" on Jesus! We'll be reading about various leaders of the early church and how they lived out their faith.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God." - Ephesians 2:8
