Light of Life Christmas lesson for 2017

The most important part of a CEF Christmas party is the Christmas lesson that explains Christ's birth and presents the gospel. This year the children learned how God created light and used it in amazing ways to announce the birth of the Savior. An intriguing visual that unfolds to a cross was used to tell the story of Christ's birth and why he came. At the end of the lesson children are given an opportunity to talk to counselors about how their sins can be forgiven through Christ's work on the cross.

Mr. Wismer explains the star used to announce Jesus' birth.
The gospel message of the cross and forgiveness of sins.
The star led shepherds (left) and wise men (right) to meet the newborn King.
Miss Betsy leads Christmas carol singing and teaches a Bible verse about Jesus as light.
Jesus was born of Mary in a stable manger because there was no room at the inn.
In some clubs children do a craft. Here they are coloring posters about Jesus' birth to take home.

Meet the CEF Cincinnati Chapter Committee

With Patricia Beatty's retirement as director, the Cincinnati chapter will be run by the local committee of eight volunteers. Each month we will introduce you to one of its members and start with the committee chairperson, Carol Yockey.
Carol first became involved with CEF in 2002 after fellow church member Patricia Beatty approached her about serving on the local chapter's committee. She became the committee's chairperson six years ago.

Carol and her husband, Ken, live in Anderson Township and have been married 44 years. They have four grown children and eight grandchildren. The Yockeys are very active in their church and are also involved in ministry to the Maasai tribe in Nairobi, Kenya.
