2019-2020 Fall Kickoff

On September 14th the annual Fall Kickoff training was held at Grace Bible Presbyterian Church in Sharonville featuring training by Kathy Horner, State Director of Education, and Cincinnati chapter committee members. Over 40 people attended and the training received very positive feedback from new and returning volunteers with one saying, "It keeps getting better every year."
The morning sessions were primarily for new volunteers and covered topics such as Teaching CEF Curriculum, New Coordinator Training, Effective Games, Why Evangelize Children? and Guiding a Child to the Savior. Afternoon sessions were for both new and returning volunteers and included Wordless Book Training, a sample orientation lesson, Teaching Songs Effectively and concluded with a group discussion of tips and ideas that work.

There are four new clubs in the pipeline for launching this fall. Taft Elementary School in Clifton is part of Cincinnati Public Schools and begins October 16th. A group of students from God's Bible School in Clifton will conduct the club. Another school in the district, John P Parker, will relaunch with a combination of seasoned and new volunteers. Miss Carter, a faithful CEF volunteer, spoke to many people about CEF and assembled a dedicated team. Pastor Daniel Keaton of Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Fairfield has a team that will minister to a local school, most likely Fairfield South Elementary. We are speaking with Lincoln Heights Elementary School about relaunching a club there.

We covet your prayers for the upcoming school year. We are still working with schools to finalize facility use and we need more volunteers in some of our clubs.

Fairfield West Starting Year 2
Last January a group of eight men and women from Covenant Community Church in Fairfield started their Good News Club at a school close to their church. Training was completed in December and January and the club launched without a hitch and just some of the regular growing pains and learning by experience, the best teacher.
The Fairfield West club started a fashion trend which quickly caught on in other clubs. Everyone had a Good News Club t-shirt and now five other clubs are doing the same. It makes a good impression and is wonderful advertising in the school.
