Happy March!
To start the month off, I would like to welcome Christine Seibel, our new Associate Project Manager for Technology Alberta and the First Jobs Program. Christine has been an excellent addition to our team! She is now running our info@technologyalberta.ca inbox, and our community can reach out to her at any time.
We welcome anyone who would like to speak with our program leads directly to attend our Thursday morning virtual office hours for students/jobseekers (10am) and companies/entrepreneurs (11am.) These sessions are a great way to connect with us and learn about the program. Sign up for an upcoming session here.
There is still time to register for the current cohort of the First Jobs Program. This program was designed to give SMEs and entrepreneurs an opportunity to grow their businesses while mentoring talent in the province. We know that Alberta's technology companies are looking for talent across areas of business, arts, science, and technology. Our goal with the First Jobs program is to connect our talented students with innovative technology SMEs here in Alberta. Register before March 16 and become a part of First Jobs!
Lastly, Technology Alberta's upcoming Innovation Community Entrepreneurship Event is on March 14: Pi day! Join us for a panel and pie at the Edmonton Research Park. Signups are open.

Alberta Student/New Graduate Job-Seekers: Registration is open to start work term with the 2023 Spring Cohort. Apply early to begin work term in March.
- A 200 hour part-time paid-work experience in business, technology, arts, or science roles, which increases your professional networks. - Student Application

ECCIR Leading Matchmaking Trip to Hannover Messe and Dresden, Germany in April 2023
Alberta Innovates’ International Technology Partnerships Program, the European-Canadian Centre for Innovation and Research is inviting Albertan Innovation leaders to participate in our Matchmaking Trip to Hanover Fair and Dresden, Germany. The Canada-Alberta Job Grant (CAJG) gives eligible Alberta businesses an opportunity to increase their productivity, the skill levels of their employees, and their ability to retain workers. Did you know:
- The CAJG cover 66% of training costs for current employees to a maximum of $10,000 per trainee per year.
- If hiring and training an unemployed Albertan, up to 100% of training costs are covered, up to $15,000 per trainee.
- The CAJG covers direct training costs, including tuition fees, exam fees, textbooks, software and eligible travel costs.
