Wed, Nov 29, 1pm - Volunteers Needed to Paint Children's Park - In advance of getting new gutters, the fascia boards need to be painted. Bring supplies (ladder, paint brush, etc) or bring nothing. When FVR painted the main building in 2016, we did not paint this part. Our hard work of before still looks great. Going?
Tues, Dec 5, 6pm - Public Input Meeting - Join us for a brainstorming session regarding amenities at Valdese Lakeside Park. We will have the maps, you bring the dreams. Ideas will be shared with the park planner.
Do you want a paved or natural greenway? What amenity should be added first? Is fishing important to you? Meeting will be in the small room of the Splash Pad Building - accessible via Hill Street. Going?
Park Design Firm Visits Property -On Friday, November 17, four personnel from Destination by Design talked to town department heads to learn their needs and walked the property to understand the the implications and parameters of the CWMTF easements. Tom Kenney was there is answer any questions since he completed the winning N.C. Clean Water Management Trust Fund application. Read more here.
Park Upgrades Underway - McGalliard Falls Park and Children's Park are getting some much needed upgrades: Parking lot paving, structure reinforcement, bathrooms, signage, fencing, tennis court demolition. It may not sound glamorous, but it work that has needed to be done for a long time.
