The Old World Baking Company and FVR teamed up for an Earth Day Cleanup. On Sunday afternoon, April 22, 28 volunteers met at the Old World Baking Company to get trash bags and vests, provided by Town of Valdese Public Works. They split in 3 groups and worked 2 hours on Hoyle Street, Main Street West, Lovelady Road and McGalliard Falls Park. 25 bags were filled with trash and set besides old buckets, a television and reflectors that had been scraped off the road. The icing on the doughnut is that after the cleanup, participants were treated to free doughnuts and coffee and time to socialize.
