Valdese Lakeside Park Cove Cleanup Saturday, March 3 ~ 10:00 am – Noon Volunteers Needed: We will be clearing out a cove full of trash. If you have waders or tall boots, please wear them. Otherwise, wear old work clothes. If you have a fishing net for trash, a rake or gloves, bring them. From Lovelady Rd, take the Waste Water Treatment Rd to the end.

February 28 - Friends of the Valdese Rec President Beth Heile and Parks and Rec Director Doug Knight presented to Governor Roy Cooper and about 60 others at the N.C. Clean Water Management Trust Fund Reception. The event held at the Executive Mansion was to honor the Valdese Lakeside Park Land Acquisition (and 2 other projects) with focus on Hometown Strong.
April 3 - 6:30 pm - Waldensian Room ~ Old Rock School - Destination by Design will reveal a close to final plan with maps and sketches. This will be a presentation, so be on time.
Memory Cafe - March 22, 3-4 pmat Splash Park Bldg FVR is working with other organizations to start a Monthly Memory Cafe for Caregivers and their Dementia/Alzheimer’s Patient. Caregivers will meet in one room for information and support - while the patients are in another room for a craft, music therapy, etc. Please spread the word, attend and/or volunteer to help.
