Member Spot Light - Rachel Watts
During the last several months, Rachel Watts has been a constant when FVR needs a volunteer. She worked 2 Valdese Lakeside Park Cleanups, the Trails Day event, Festival Booth and the Children's Park event. She is hard working and dependable, but the best thing about Rachel is she doesn't have to be told step-by-step what to do and finds ways to improve what she is doing. For her girl scout silver project, she worked with another scout to create a Bird Sanctuary and planting area at McGalliard Falls Park. Her family has held an FVR Membership for several years and are Valdese Lakeside Park donors. We are grateful to have Rachel as a part of FVR. She is a Junior at DHS and you can see her Tuesday night marching with the Wildcat Band in the Homecoming Parade.
Spruce Up at the Splash Park - On Friday morning, September 28, four FVR members spent their time pulling weeds and picking up trash. Thanks to Spence & Jayne Borden, Kate Carter and Beth Heile for helping keep our parks looking good.
