Facebook & PayPal will start matching donations at 8:00am ET on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 going until $7 million in donations is reached or at 11:59pm PT on November 27.
Donations will be matched dollar for dollar on a first-come, first-served basis.

Local Donor Match
Thanks to an extremely generous offer from an anonymous donor, 
every contribution made to the Valdese Lakeside Park Project before December 31, 2018
will be matched dollar for dollar (up to $100K during this time). 
No matter how you donate - Facebook, Check, Paypal, Cash - donations will be counted in the local match.

An official with the  NC Department of Environmental Quality - Water Resources visited Valdese Lakeside Park and McGalliard Falls Park on Thursday, November 1 to communicate what is needed for a winning grant score.  The $200K grant (if we raise a matching $200k by Dec 31 - otherwise it will be for how much we raise) being applied for by Erin Schotte (WPCOG) on behalf of the town will be used for a greenway along the lake and creek, and storm water management.

Trail Thursday at Valdese Lakeside Park - Meeting time has changed to 4:30pm and you must RSVP for specific event - Run 10K, Walk/Run 5K or Walk (reply to e-mail or use Facebook event). Meet at in the grassy parking area at the end of Lake Rhodhiss Drive to join the fun.

 

We had 9 people and 5 dogs attend our event at Valdese Lakeside Park for National Take a Hike Day. A dog park is included in the Master Park Plan - but as with everything, it is a matter of having the funds.
