Trails Day at Valdese Lakeside Park

During the June 2 morning event, the 70 participants could take part in a 4 mile trail run, 1-4 mile hikes, orienteering event for mountain bikers, learn the basics of disc golf, talk to the coach of the school mountain bike team and/or just hang out.
FVR Meeting with Doug Knight 
 
Monday, July 9 - 6pm - For FVR Members and Park Donors - Parks and Recreation Director Doug Knight will discuss: how amenities will be built at Valdese Lakeside Park using grants and donations from the community, how Town Council will need to approve what is done at the park, what we can be doing now. At the Splash Park Building.

Painting, New Borders, Pressure Washing, Mulching at Children's Park by Bimbo Bakeries.

Luke Blalock with Boy Scout Troop 224 is working on his Eagle Scout Project - building 2 Scorer's Tables at Fletcher Ball Park. Funding of this project has been made possible with donations from Friends of the Valdese Rec, BB&T and Lowes Hardware.
Memory Cafe - 4th Thursday of the Month
3-4 pm at Splash Park Building
Free for Caregivers & their Dementia/Alzheimer’s Patient. Caregivers meet in one room for education and support - while the patients are in another room for a craft, music therapy, etc. July 26 Speaker: Alzheimer's Association Redia Baxter "Healthy Living"

Meditation Point
Take a trip to Meditation Point to find Orienteering Marker Number 9 and a bench.
