Governor Larry Hogan Provided an Update on Maryland’s Ongoing Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic (3/25/2020)
Governor Hogan announced that he is requesting a presidential Major Disaster Declaration for the State of Maryland. He also announced the prioritization of child care for emergency personnel and the receipt of $4 million in federal funding to provide at-home meal support to senior citizens. Hogan also noted that the Hospital Surge Plan has made 2,400 beds available and Maryland Responds Medical Reserve Corps signups have increased by 50%.

County Executive Ball to Host Virtual Townhall Regarding Coronavirus Updates
Thursday, March 26, 2020 | 6:30 pm

MEMA to Organize Emergency Suppliers of Equipment and Services
The Maryland Department of Commerce is working closely with the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) to organize emergency suppliers of equipment and services that may aid in the response to the COVID-19 crisis. If you are a potential supplier, learn more here

Four Local nonprofits are joining together to raise $100,000 in 10 days to meet needs in Howard County caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Learn more   


COVID-19: April 1 Effective Date for FFCRA Leaves 
On Tuesday, March 24, the Department of Labor (DOL) announced that the effective date of the leaves available through the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) will be April 1, 2020. Find more information at the DOL Pandemic site

USDA Implements Immediate Measures to Help Rural Residents, Business, and Communities Affected by COVID-19  
On March 25, USDA Rural Development announced a number of steps being taken to provide relief to businesses and residents affected by COVID-19. These measures include: deferment of payments for specific rural business loan programs, moratorium assistance for the rural development housing community, extension of deadlines for grant programs and more.
