Maryland Innovation Center Presents A Paycheck Protection Program Q&A

Have questions about the Paycheck Protection and related Programs? Details are changing, and it is hard to sort out what to expect through the flood of information. Doug White, Managing Director of Glass Jacobson Financial Group who focuses on small to mid-stage companies, will provide specific insights and answers.

Maryland Receives 500,000 COVID-19 Tests from South Korea
On Saturday, April 18, 2020, Governor Larry Hogan announced that the state of Maryland now has half a million new COVID-19 tests after weeks of talks. The 500,000 tests came from a South Korean healthcare company called LabGenomics.

Johns Hopkins APL Crafting Face Shields for Medical Workers 
Given the shortage of personal protective equipment needed by health care workers on the front lines of the battle against COVID-19, many engineers and scientists from the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) maker community jumped into action by crafting face shields.  

MCI Resident Company, Hawkeye MedTech’s Telemedicine App Helping to Reduce Spread of COVID-19
Maryland Innovation Center resident company, HawkEye MedTech, has launched their new app, TotalCare. This app is designed for healthcare professionals to have virtual appointments with sick patients who cannot make it into the doctor’s office due to their symptoms or fear of spreading their illness. Since the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, more doctor’s have tapped into TotalCare which has made it easier to see patients while keeping both the patient and doctor safe, thus reducing the spread of the virus.  

HCC Business Training Center Working with Community Leaders 
While access to Howard Community College (HCC) campus is restricted to authorized employees only, its Business Training Center continues to work with business and government clients by providing organizations with a full range of virtual custom trainings, professional development, coaching, organizational development, and business consulting.
