President Trump Signs Coronavirus Stimulus Bill
Today, President Trump signed a $484 billion coronavirus-relief package that will replenish depleted small-business loan programs, send more assistance to hospitals, and increase funds to expand testing capacity nationwide. 

Governor Hogan Introduces 'Maryland Strong' Recovery Plan 
Today, Governor Hogan introduced the ‘Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery’ plan, a three phase reopening plan based upon four building blocks: 1) expanding testing capacity, 2) increasing hospital surge capacity, 3) increased supply of PPE, and 4) developing a robust contact tracing operation. Governor Hogan is reiterated the need to see a decrease in cases, deaths and COVID-related ER visits before restrictions are lifted. To read the plan, visit  

MD Department of Labor Launches New Unemployment Insurance Application 
Maryland Department of Labor launched the BEACON One-Stop application in response to technical difficulties with the previous unemployment application. The new application allows self-employed, independent contractors, and sole proprietors to file a claim for unemployment benefit programs.

County Executive Ball and HCGH President Snelgrove Announce Hospital Surge Plan 
Today, Howard County Government announced a coordinated surge plan with Howard County General Hospital (HCGH). The surge plan focuses on three major aspects of operation: adding physical capacity to the hospital; tracking streamlining and purchasing vital equipment; and identifying and deploying staff to the hospital.
