We’re bringing the outside – in – with our Sage Color of the Year selection for interior cabinet and component design. The fresh and calming shade is a cool-toned green that creates an elegant and refined ambiance.

Being in the center of the color spectrum, shades of green are the most restful color to the human eye, which is why they’re naturally calming and soothing hues. Because of its serene nature, our Sage color is one people want to incorporate into their living spaces. It's versatility crosses over traditional and modern design styles, and is great for being used as an accent or on a large scale without over powering a space.

Our Color of the Year choice was based on trend analysis, industry research, and consumer interest. We added the Sage color to our Reflekt and UltraMatte product lines in 2018, along with a Blue hue in the same high-gloss and matte. Both additions have cool undertones that pair well with any of our popular neutral colors.
Pantone Color of the Year: Living Coral
Known as global color experts, Pantone picked a "vibrant, yet mellow" coral color that is a peachy shade of orange with a golden undertone for their 2019 forecast. Pantone's prediction influences product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries including interior design, fashion, technology and graphic design.
Dulux Color of the Year: Spiced Honey
The UK based architectural paint company chose Spiced Honey for its "warm amber tone, inspired by the beauty and versatility of honey itself." This sophisticated shade and its four supporting palettes were developed by a panel of experts at the industry-acclaimed ColourFutures trend forecast meeting.
Benjamin Moore Color of the Year: Metropolitan
The team at the popular paint company wanted a neutral color this year after selecting a vibrant red in 2018. They landed on Metropolitan, a stylish gray with cool undertones. It's a "mid-tone color that has a little bit of life to it." They also curated color pairings that includes off-whites, grays, blues, and greens.

Behr Color of the Year: Blueprint
Blueprint S470-5 is a mid-tone blue described as "warmer than denim and softer than navy." The paint company used their 2019 selection as a foundational hue in four suggested color palettes with 18 coordinating colors forecasted to influence design in the year ahead.

Sherwin-Williams Color of the Year: Cavern Clay
Predicting a resurgence of 70s design, Sherwin-Williams picked “a warm terracotta color with ancient, elemental roots. Cavern Clay is a nod to midcentury modern style, but with the soul of the American Southwest, which together create the desert modern aesthetic,” said Sue Wadden, director of color marketing.
We are in the process of installing another HPS flexTec 320 from Stiles Machinery. We'll be the first company in the US with multiple HPS robotic saws integrated into our system. As we continue to streamline our processes with autonomous machinery, this new saw will communicate with our Intellistore for panel retrieval and a new automated edgebander (HOMAG KAL 370 LaserTec) arriving in the first quarter of 2019.

Our Reflekt and UltraMatte materials were chosen for a 3-unit condo project in the San Francisco area. The multiple kitchens were built and installed by Gao's Cabinets, Inc.

Using Reflekt Grey and UltraMatte Stone, this stunning combination of surface finishes and grey shades is a unique design in this new build. The client chose these finishes because he wanted to use materials that were both durable and modern. The neutral color of the Reflekt Grey paired well with the bold UltraMatte Stone.

The client also liked the high-end feel of the UltraMatte and sleek, modern look of the high-gloss Reflekt finishes. Additionally, it was important for the client to choose scratch-resistant materials since these are rental units.
Located in San Francisco, Gao’s Cabinets has been a family owned business since 1996. They are committed to serving their clients with the highest quality cabinets at outstanding prices. Visit
