This morning marks the start of the Remote Learning Period at SCS. This period of increasingly structured new learning will run through the end of the school year (8 weeks) with the exception of next week's April Vacation (April 20th-24th).
This past Friday, all SCS caregivers should have received an email from Mr. Sivo and Ms.Celmer outlining the unique plans for our PK-4 and 5-8 students. It is important to look over the plans (re-posted) below, as they contain the details of how each grade span plans to meet the needs of their students, in a developmentally appropriate way, through remote learning.
Ms. Celmer's PK-4 Letter w/Learning Plan
Mr. Sivo's 5-8 Letter w/Learning Plan
Our teachers and staff look forward to getting these plans up and running with your students this morning. Please make sure that you are referring to our Remote Learning Site for all information on schedule and expectations. If you need direct support or help to understand the plan for your child, please reach out directly to their teacher. All team/teacher pages will be newly updated by 9:00 AM this morning.
Have a great week and be well!
Yearbook Info from Mrs. Nakhleh: Order Deadline Extended
The deadline for ordering yearbooks was March 31st. The company shut down the on-line orders early so people were unable to order the yearbook online recently. I have contacted the company and they have reopened the link and you should now be able to order yearbooks online from 3/31 until 4/20. I extended the original due date, If you would rather not order it on-line, please email me to let me know so I can put your order in and then you can mail a check to the school. Please make the check out to Shelburne Community School and put "yearbook" on the memo line.

Students Needing Support and Check-Ins
While most of our students utilize the Remote Learning Site to access work from their teachers and teams, there is more there than they may realize.
If your student could use support from our counselors, clinicians, SAPs, or just need some ideas about ways to stay active and healthy during this unique period. Please check out our Student Wellness page for access to both the adults and for information that could help.
If your student is looking to explore digital tools, support, or resources that could help them better access remote learning, please check out our Library and Digital Learning page.
2020/2021 Placement Process
For families with students currently in grades K, 2, 4, & 6, our registrar will be sending out our annual Parent/Guardian Input form to help us with our student placement process. Please keep a look-out in your email (and spam) starting on Monday, April 27th from Informed K-12, where you'll receive an online form to complete by Sunday, May 3rd. Please note, Placement forms submitted after May 3rd will not be included in the placement process. Our placement teams will begin this work throughout the month of May and students/families will hear about final placement plans on 'Step-Up Day'. Please keep in mind that these forms will be shared with current teaching teams to help us with the placement process.
SCS Staff Shout Out
Our professional community used to use this form internally to celebrate one-another's successes and strengths and show appreciation for one-another.
Since we are now all working remotely, we've created a digital version and we're opening this up for students and families to share their appreciation for the hard-working teachers and school community members as well.
Thank you so much for taking the time to spread positivity!
