KEEPING OUR DUNES HEALTHY!

Our City of Orange Beach Coastal Resources Department had the honor of working with Dune Doctors, the Gulf State Park-Alabama, and Orange Beach Elementary School over the past two mornings.

Our second grade classes installed native dune vegetation at Cotton Bayou Beach Access in Orange Beach. New sea oats, panic grass, red and white morning glories, sea elder, and dune sunflowers now adorn the dunes

With a little assistance from the aeolian transport process, these plants will help the existing dunes build up over time. And that adds up to some serious erosion mitigation!

Great teamwork and BIG thanks to these wonderful community partners and our students!
RESIDENTIAL YARD OF THE MONTH ANNOUNCED

Orange Beach Garden Club, represented by Becky Zerby, presented the Residential Yard of the Month to Paula and Thomas Pierce, 23896 Cypress Manor. Congratulations!
