Busy Week Ahead...
It will be a busy week at The Wharf Amphitheater with Alabama performing on Thursday, May 9th, followed by Bryan Adams on Friday and comedian Jim Gaffigan on Saturday. Expect heavy traffic and plan ahead.

Week 49 School Progress 

This week's aerials - Week 49 taken on Friday, May 3, 2019 - show the construction progress at the site of the future Orange Beach High School and Middle School on Canal Road. Of note, the foundation for the gymnasium is taking shape.

Council meeting set Tuesday, May 7th 
The Orange Beach City Council will hold its regular meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 7th, followed by the Committee of the Whole meeting. Find the agendas at

Boat ramp reopens

The Boggy Point Boat Ramp has reopened. Renovations were completed ahead of schedule. The completed renovations include the replacement of all piers with new piles, new decking with composite non-slip material and the repair of paver depressions. The parking spaces were also restriped.

Adult/Senior Center May 2019 activities

The Orange Beach Adult/Senior Activity Center has announced its May 2019 Excursions and Events. Find the Orange Beach Adult/Senior Activity Center May 2019 calendar and newsletter on the City Website.

Community Potluck on May 6th 

The Monthly Community Potluck will be held on Monday, May 6th at the Orange Beach Community Center, featuring zoo personnel - both 2-legged and 4-legged. Plans for the new zoo, which will be opening soon, will be discussed. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner starts at 6:30. Everyone is invited; just bring a dish to share.

The City of Orange Beach Expect Excellence Theater Program will present Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka on Thursday, May 23rd at the Orange Beach Event Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now on the City Website. The ticket cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children (12 and under). Purchase tickets online at the City Website. 

Early registration for Youth Soccer starts May 6th 

Early registration for Orange Beach Fall Youth Soccer begins on May 6th and runs through May 25th. Those who register early will be offered a discounted rate of $55 for children ages 4 to 14 (as of August 1st, 2019). Late registration begins July 15th and runs until July 31st. The late registration fee is $70. Registration will be available online beginning on May 6th at more information, call Athletics Director Laura Davis, 251-747-7877 or email

Junior Lifeguard program planned for June   

The Orange Beach Fire Department’s Surf Rescue squad will offer two Junior Lifeguard Program sessions in the Summer of 2019. The first session will be held June 10-14 for ages 9 to 11, and the second session will be offered June 24-28 for ages 12 to 15.  Find registration information and other details about the Junior Lifeguard Program on the City Webiste. 

Kids Summer Tennis Camp sign-ups underway 

The 2019 Orange Beach Summer Kids Tennis Program will have sessions in June and July for all skill levels at the Orange Beach Tennis Center. Children must be at least 7 years old to participate. See the City Website for Summer Kids Tennis Program registration information and course schedule.
