Youth Education & Housing Partner Convening

Your attendance is requested for the upcoming Education Partner Convening on Fri, April 22, 2022, from 9 am - 12 pm ET. Detroit is partnering with the National Center for Homeless Education, the U.S. Department of Education’s federal homeless education technical assistance center, Wayne Metro, and Wayne State University College of Education to host this convening. The convening will take place at Wayne State University, with a virtual attendance option.

This convening is an opportunity to bring together education and housing partners for building connections and partnerships for improving the identification of and referrals to education and housing services for youth and young adults, including pregnant and parenting young people, who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Representatives from the Michigan State Department of Education will also be joining us.

Education is a partner and a pathway to supporting youth and young adults with making sustainable exits from homelessness. We know that systems working together will have a larger impact on the lives of those experiencing homelessness/housing instability.

Please register at your earliest convenience and share with your colleagues and networks. Details including the convening agenda, meeting location at Wayne State University, and parking information will be provided in early April. This event is going to be held in a hybrid format to ensure the accommodation of schedules and comfort levels, the meeting link for those attending virtually will be provided upon registering.
