We are here.
The District 9 Office is open for business. Our field office in the Frost Bank building and our downtown City office is manned although many of our staff are working remotely. We will continue to answer your calls, address your needs and concerns and update our community contacts and social media. Especially now, it is critical to stay accurately informed. The City of San Antonio will post current updates on COVID-19 here.

We are also building a list of people who may be more impacted in the coming weeks and will check-in with them on a regular basis.

If you or someone you know falls into one of the categories below and need assistance, please email us at District9@sanantonio.gov.
  • Homebound seniors
  • Live in a Group Home

  • On Snap or Housing Vouchers
  • Small Business Owners
We are here to help.

Calling all Volunteers!

If you have the time and are willing to help your neighbors in need, we are calling for volunteer support.
Email us at District9@sanantonio.gov if you'd like to be contacted about volunteer opportunities in the coming weeks.
LOCAL UPDATE:

NEISD campus operations will be closed through April 3rd.

Yesterday, Mayor Ron Nirenberg issued a public health emergency declaration, which prohibits mass gatherings of 50 people or more. The City Council will consider extending the seven-day declaration at Thursday’s regularly scheduled meeting. This declaration comes from the advice of the CDC and is enforceable by law. It is strongly recommended that people avoid social gatherings of 10 or more.

The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District (Metro Health) is currently investigating a fourth confirmed travel-related positive COVID-19 case. This brings the number of travel-related COVID-19 cases in San Antonio to four.

Drive-through testing for COVID-19 is not available for the general public at this time. For now, drive-thru testing is only available for first responders and health care workers who meet qualifications for testing. Everyone else must be tested at a laboratory with approval from a doctor. Testing criteria and drive through testing information is being finalized with state and federal officials. We will issue updates as the information is finalized.

Patients should not contact Metro Health directly to request COVID-19 testing or go to emergency rooms to seek COVID-19 testing. A health care provider, such as a primary care physician or urgent care provider, must order the test.

Residents are encouraged to download the Ready South Texas app, available in the iTunes and Google Play stores, to receive updates on the COVID-19 situation in San Antonio.

Additionally, residents can text COSAGOV to 55000 to receive SMS text message updates.

Starting today, the Alamodome is hosting a 3-day blood drive to maintain local blood supply.
Donations may also be made by appointment at a donor room near you. If you are willing and able to donate, you can schedule your visit
here or call
210-731-5590.
The San Antonio Food Bank is asking for your help.

Their goal over the next 30 days is to add 15 million pounds of food to our distribution network.

This is equivalent to $1.5 million dollars. Only with your support can we achieve this goal.

$1 = 10 Pounds

$10 = 100 Pounds

$100 =   1000 Pounds
