MudGirls Studios Newsletter #1
September 2017

Thank you for your continued support.

Welcome to the new MudGirls Newsletter. We are celebrating our first very successful year with outreach aimed at our supporters, volunteers and donors. Learn a little about what we've been up to and where we are headed next!

Empowering Women

Each week, the women who came for respite from the harsh world outside gathered around the kitchen table to roll out clay, making bowls, trays, plates, boxes, and decorative items.

I have seen the lives of our MudGirls begin to transform. As we work around the table the women express their difficulties getting around town, waiting in line at the food bank, and their discussions at group sessions. Each woman has her own challenges, but together we support each other while we work. At MudGirls Studios, the women find their sense of purpose. They often call or text me, anxious for the next work day. Currently, I run an outreach workshop once a week at a day shelter, and MudGirls Studios’ craftswomen work almost daily in the studio. Through generous donations and ample sales our artisans are earning an hourly wage, enabling them to improve their lives and their sense of self-confidence.

What We're Up To

We have been commissioned for numerous custom orders for medallions, dishes, vases, and ceramic pins for clients including Wells Fargo and AtlantiCare. This year we created 700 medallions for the Wedding of the Sea Festival in Atlantic City.

This June, MudGirls Studios launched their first catalog, where patrons can place their orders. We continue to sell our wares at Cafe No. 7311 in Ventnor, and this Christmas will expand our retail efforts.

Fall Events
 Moving Up

Our small, dark temporary studio is now a thing of the past as we have moved our studio up to the second floor of the old St. Michael’s School in Atlantic City. While there is much work to be done, walls to patch, and plumbing and electricity to be updated, we are happy to have a new home. Here we have a large, sunfilled space and have already begun production.
A Call for Volunteers

With much to look forward to and much work to be done, MudGirls studios is excited to announce that we will be seeking volunteers to aid with a variety of tasks both in the studio and out. Many of you have reached out to us asking how you can help. We will be announcing an open house for volunteers very soon, and our new monthly newsletters to keep in touch! Have something you can bring to the table? Email us about specific volunteer opportunities!

Stay connected with us on our website, Facebook and our Instagram.

Donations are also warmly appreciated.

Thank you for your continued support,
