Dear <<First Name>>,

The next fast for peace is coming up on Wednesday, June 15, and I hope you'll join us. The fast is simple - abstain from food for 24 hours, and just drink water. Participating in this shared self-sacrifice demonstrates an intention to work together for a more peaceful world. If you haven't pledged for this month's fast and would like to, you can so do so at this link:

June 15 marks an important arrest in nonviolence activist Dorothy Day's life. The founder of the Catholic Worker movement, her lifetime of effort mirrored Gandhi's in many ways, and she received the Gandhi Peace Award in 1975. You can learn more about her life here:

This month's #fastforpeace charity is Doctors Without Borders. For more than 50 years, they've done what their name says: served those in need of medical care without regard for political lines on a map. They are active in more than 70 countries around the world, and in 1999, they were honored for their work with the Nobel Peace Prize. You learn more about their efforts and can donate on their website:

Thanks to everyone who joined last month's Zoom meetup; we'll be doing it again on Wednesday. You can meet some of the other people participating in the fast and share perspectives and experiences. Bring your questions, comments, and other topics of conversation to our discussion group on the 15th, from 8-8:30pm ET. Here's the details:

Meeting ID: 886 7983 3914 Passcode: 089525

Last, August 6-9 is the annual 72-hour fast for nuclear disarmament, marking the 77th anniversary of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. If you're willing to participate, you can add your pledge at this link:
