Research outcomes on Xylella fastidiosa now available in French, Italian and Spanish

The technical report resuming the main achievements obtained up to date in the research on Xylella by POnTE and XF-ACTORS projects has been translated in several languages and it is available in open access.

EFSA – Updated pest categorisation of Xylella fastidiosa 

Following a request from the European Commission, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) updated its pest categorisation of Xylella fastidiosa, providing extended and updated information on the pathogen.

Screening of olive cultivars for searching sources of resistance to Xylella fastidiosa
A research program is ongoing in Apulia (Italy) to identify olive cultivars with genetic traits of resistance to the bacterial infections of Xylella. In 2018, 26 additional cultivars have been inoculated with the Apulian strain of XylellaFind out more.

The project XF-ACTORS is a 4-year multi-actor project started in November 2016 and entirely dedicated to research on Xylella fastidiosa.

The consortium gathers 29 partners from all over the world, and integrates the expertise on different fields such as plant pathology, entomology, modelling, risk assessment and social sciences with the active involvement of farmers and nurserymen.
XF-ACTORS project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement N. 727987
