Last week we discussed some of the joys and challenges of Retrievers as family dogs. Some of you will want to go hunting with your dogs but even if you don't plan to hunt with your dog, tapping into the retrieving instinct is a great skill to train and fun activity to do with your Retriever.  By the way, you don't need to have a Retriever, you can do this enriching teamwork activity with any dog! Here are some great books that use modern training methods for hunt and retrieve training.
