The Sustainable Soils Alliance and the Soil Association will be hosting a virtual “Landscape to carbonscape: the roadmap to a soil carbon market place” stakeholder event on Wednesday 14 July 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
Soil carbon sequestration represents a critical tool in the journey to NetZero and the delivery of other ecosystem services. However, there are a number of critical steps required before a functioning market would be possible. Land managers are already being rewarded for increasing the carbon in their soils, however various economic, scientific, practical and legal issues need to be addressed before a robust, scalable and coherent market place can emerge – one that engenders confidence for all stakeholders while delivering for land managers, investors and the environment.
The event is aimed at those currently involved - or interested in land-based carbon schemes, particularly soil carbon, with the aim of encouraging collaboration in this space.
