Why San Quintin?
Why did Mission Flight select San Quintin for our first dental Clinic?

1.  An answer to prayer.  When Mike first met Pastor Joel in 2016, Pastor Joel and his church had been praying daily for two years for a dental clinic to be built next to his church.  Why a dental clinic? Seems a little odd.  How many pastors do you know pray daily for something like this? His heart and passion is to serve the deep needs of the local migrant farming community, and when Pastor Joel came to San Quintin from Guadalajara with his family in 2003, he and his family worked in the fields.  This experience has given Pastor Joel an intimate understanding of the significant needs here.  Eventually, he was called to start his own church in San Quintin.
2. The people.  San Quintin Valley is resident to approximately 200,000 people, a majority are migrant field workers who have extremely limited access to health care,  especially dental care.  Of the 200,000 people, there are over 100 distinct languages spoken (not just dialects).  There are many connections to various countries and ethnic groups in this valley.
3.  The location. San Quintin Valley is too far for most volunteers from the U.S. to drive, but is very safe and accessible by general aviation airplanes, turning a 10-12 hour drive into a beautiful two hour flight.
4.  Gateway To Serve Unreached People Groups.  As we "love our neighbors" next door to us, we'd especially like to invite and encourage our volunteers to take "the next step" with a longer trip to serve Unreached People Groups. Currently we are establishing a clinic amongst the Huichol Indians in the mountains northeast of Guadalajara.
Pray with us, serve with us, give generously and regularly towards this mission!
