June 2019 News and Excitement!

RAISING THE ROOF
- COMPLETED -

Family Community Church in San Jose brought a team to complete the roof on the new sanctuary adjacent to the dental clinic in San Quintin! They were amazing! The trip was May 3-5, 2019. In addition to the roof, two of the team members joined Angelina, a local RN, to do much needed home care visits. Also, the rough electrical was installed, which was above and beyond what we were hoping to accomplish on this trip!

Kids SOAR!

We had an amazing turnout on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Luxivair San Bernardino International Airport. Special thanks to our generous sponsor, UNICAL, and their staff. 42 children and their families flew with volunteer pilots, becoming VIP co-pilots, earning their wings, and being cheered for and celebrated on the red carpet. With a combination of smiles, some fears, and lots of encouragement...

The May Dental Clinic and Outreach served many in need!
Although we were shorthanded on this trip with dental professionals, the team still divided into two groups and served in two locations, one at the "main clinic" and the other at a remote site hosted by a local church. In total, over 200 people were served! Tons of hard work and long hours, but so worth it! One surprise was a personal invitation to visit the mayor of a small town about 45 minutes north of San Quintin. She has recently come to follow Christ and is looking for ways to better serve the migrant farm workers in her town that are in need. After visiting her

Youth Programs in June!

Did you know that one of the six programs that Mission Flight offers is for youth and scout groups to serve the community and learn the many ways that aviation can be utilized to do so. We provide opportunities for them to earn their aviation merit badge if they are in a scout group - just like Troop 342 did this month. Way to go Troop 342!!!! Youth can also earn community service hours! Bring your youth group to an upcoming Breakfast and Service Day or bring them on a mission's trip!
