Nancy Pitz
Parents & Guardians,

An important message from the Mwebaza Foundation:

On March 17th a team from the Mwebaza Foundation is traveling to Uganda.  They will be bringing the Pen Pal projects to Mwebaza Infant and will be bringing Pen Pal projects back to Niwot Elementary in April!  Students in K, 1st and 2nd will be doing their Pen Pal projects in the spring and those will go to Uganda in the summer.
They are also collecting gently-used smartphones, cameras or headphones/earbuds.  Please drop these at the office by Wednesday, March 16 if you have any of these items to donate.  Communication with our Uganda partner schools is crucial to the health of our mission.  Newer (less than 5 years old) smartphones help us communicate regularly with the teachers and community members that are leading Mwebaza Foundation programs and projects.  Additionally, cameras or phones with newer technology and higher quality lenses encourage creativity, art, and expression in students and teachers alike.  Phones need to be unlocked and restored to their original settings. Thank you!

Don't forget to set your clocks forward one hour on Sunday, March 13 at 2:00am.

Please let me know what you need and how I can support you.

Dear Niwot Families,

I am excited to announce that I will have a Teacher Candidate joining me in teaching music beginning on Monday, March 14.  I am looking forward to welcoming Natalie Morris to our Niwot community.

Natalie Morris is a Teacher Candidate from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. She is completing her last semester of her degree in Music Education and is very excited to be joining Mrs. Madry and the students very soon!  She has spent the first 8 weeks of her placement teaching high school band in Colorado Springs.  Miss Morris is from Colorado Springs and enjoys trying new recipes in the kitchen.

Miss Morris will be with us at Niwot through mid-May as she completes her student teaching.  We are looking forward to having her join our staff!

Hey, innovators! We’re looking for students who are risk-takers, thinkers,  curious, persistent, creative, and interdependent. Join us at Innovation Academy for a week of design thinking, inquiry-based learning, and lots and lots of prototyping, where you’ll have tons of fun as we find solutions to the world’s most pressing issues! (Well… from the perspective of an elementary-aged student!) We’ll use the human centered process called Design Thinking to uncover needs, brainstorm ideas, and bring some of those ideas to life!  Registration opened March 14, and space is limited!
