"Human-Grade" Pet Food

Dr. Dave Dzanis has provided a short article on one of the latest marketing trends in commercial pet food: human-grade pet foods.

Dave is pictured here with 3 of his tortoises (from left to right they are Bucky, Lucky and Stucky); two others who were camera shy are Plucky and Ducky.

First Annual Recipe Edition!

A call went out for recipes to share and we've got an assortment for those readers looking for something different to try on unsuspecting (or adventurous) dinner guests.

First up is an appetizer from Dr. Laura Eirmann;
Next is an easy roasted vegetable side-dish from Dr. Jane Bicks;
From Dr. Ronald Corbee comes a German version of the ever-popular potato pancake;
Rice and meat is a staple in many countries and from my Lebanese heritage, I present a dish called Hushwee;
Dr. Amanda Ardente is harvesting lemons in her backyard this month so she submitted a Lemon Curd Pound Cake recipe;
Finally, a decadent banana pudding recipe (including chessmen cookies from Pepperidge Farms) from Dr. Jessica Harris.

If you've got a recipe that's easy to pull off and/or deliciously tasty, please don't wait 12 months to send it to the editor...we'd love to hear from you!
