Mock Orange
Philadelphus lewisii
Sweetly fragrant white flowers appear early in the summer on this hardy, native shrub. Does best in moist, well drained soil but tolerates drought once established.
Ericameria (Chrysothamnus)
One of our favorite native plants! And one of the most important pollinator plants because of it's late blooming time, add this gem to any sunny dry spot. Dwarf varieties available for smaller gardens.
Jupiter's Beard; Red Valerian
Centranthus ruber 'Coccineus'
Showy rosy red flowers cover this drought tolerant, versatile perennial from late spring through summer. Add to your xeric garden or perennial border. Prefers full sun and well drained soil.

Look for the “GROW IT, MOW IT & THROW IT" contest, happening this August.

Have you ever considered removing your bluegrass lawn and replacing it with a garden instead? Maybe it's a native garden, a prairie of wildflowers or an edible patch.

Here at Gardenwerks we are very passionate about a well designed landscape, especially one that conserves water. Lawns certainly have their place in the landscape, but far too often they become the default design element to fill an area. Rather, a good design should start with designating bluegrass lawn areas and filling the remaining area with a diverse mix of plants. Bluegrass lawns consume an incredible amount of water, resources and time; and contribute very little to the local ecological community.

A well laid out perennial garden can provide so many benefits, all with less input.

Are you convinced? Let’s get digging! Look for details on our website.

We will award the top two customers that remove the largest area of bluegrass lawn by square footage.
