Project Update

Site preparation is nearing completion, foundations are being poured, and phased construction is scheduled to begin this fall. Although the possibility was examined, the schedule cannot be accelerated despite most students and staff being off-site. The first phase of construction is focused on the new wings that will be built on the front lawn, completely separate from the existing school.

Building Update: Spring - Summer 2020

This 2 minute video summarizes the hard work performed by the construction crew this spring and summer preparing the AHS site for construction. Site excavation is complete, new sewer and utility lines are in place, new parking lots are paved, and foundations for Phase 1 wings are nearly complete.

Phase 1 construction of the Performing Arts and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) wings will begin later this fall.

Budget update

A new project estimate performed in August revealed that at the 90% Construction Documents milestone, the project was $1.2M under budget. The Building Committee was thus able to add back a few items that were previously removed from the project as well as allocate additional funds to the design contingency budget. School entrance changes

With the beginning of Phase 1 construction this fall, the main entrances to the high school have changed. Learn more.

Menotomy Preschool's new home at the Parmenter School

Renovation of the Parmenter School finished in August on schedule and on budget. Menotomy Preschool has moved out of the high school and into the Parmenter School where they will stay until the new high school is finished. Read more.
