Looking Back at 2020 @ SAN

Friends,

It feels a little early to be looking toward wrapping up 2020. But then again, who isn't somewhat eager to put this year in the history books and build a better future from it in 2021?

Reflecting on the work accomplished during the past 11-12 months, the SAN Arts Program was plenty busy. Like all arts & culture organizations, the transition from traditional programming to virtual and other innovative methods of engagement was necessary. Thankfully our artists and partners were up to the task. In fact, this was really a period of thriving together when faced with the challenges! It is in stepping back and looking at the culmination of this collaborative work that I realize we have in fact "gotten through this together." And not just "gotten through" but developed new, sustaining approaches and projects. This fact remains as no surprise. And though we know there is still a long way to go, we also know that when the arts and creativity are included in the conversation, anything is possible and no problem is too large to solve. This continues to include all the ways that artists are currently functioning as "Second Responders," providing needed health & safety reinforcement and reprieve. From spreading responsible social messaging, or offering outlets to experience or create art, to just being good global citizens, the Arts Program is proud to support the work of artists and the creative sector.

We hope that you will enjoy scrolling through the year-in-review below and continue to utilize this output (all linkable to our website) as ongoing enrichment and entertainment, especially during this unique holiday season.

On behalf of the Arts team at SAN, we wish for your best well-being.

Happy Holidays,

Chris Chalupsky
