February News for The Bookshop...

At time of writing it is a positively toasty 11°C outside and the weather report is promising sunny skies and even warmer temperatures for the week ahead.

We're keeping our fingers crossed for a dry night on Wednesday when the
Fort William Mountain Festival Opening Night Extravaganza will be in full swing here in the High Street. We'll be open until 9pm that evening so do pop in if you are out and about enjoying the show!

The Mountain Festival has become a landmark event in the UK outdoor calendar and we are delighted to be part of it again this year. Read on for information on our literary programme and book tickets here.

And now for the books...

We've had an avalanche of new season titles arriving in the shop the last few weeks and have picked out a few favourites for you below.

New Books We Love
Soft Fruit Season Approaches!

Jam Sessions
by Joyce Goldstein

Have you ever fancied making your own jams, chutneys, syrups and marmalades?
With plenty of gorgeous recipes, surprising flavour combinations and handy tips, all brought to life in stunning photography, this new book is sure to see you through every season for years to come.

A Brand New Highland Thriller!

The Hunting Party
by Lucy Foley

A menacing Agatha Cristie-esque mystery set in a remote hunting lodge, deep in the Scottish wilderness. Full of colourful characters and a plot line that will keep you reading past midnight this is not your average thriller.

A New Shop Favourite...

The Runner
by Markus Torgeby

The powerful account of Torgeby's escape, at aged 20, from the mounting pressures of the modern world and his subsequent four years living and running in a remote Swedish forest. Quite simply the most beautiful, exquisitely written book on running.
