Our last Saturday walk for the year

The 2018 'Mystery Walk'

It's nearly the end of the year and we're proposing a longer walk to set us up for a great 2019.  Come join us on Saturday 24 November at Glenella - meeting at 11.00am to give us enough time to complete this walk.  So where is it?  Well, it's a mystery walk so we're not telling!  But there will be steps, rough tracks as well as paths so bring sturdy shoes, a hat, plenty of water, food (as there's none where we're going) and rain gear if its forecast.  Total walk distance somewhere between 15 & 20kms.  Oh, and put on sun block and insect repellant too, plus a light jumper if the weather suggests it, just in case!

Can't wait to see who's got the guts to turn up and join us!  The more the merrier.  It would be nice, for planning purposes if you could email us here if you'd like to come along.

And afterwards we'll relax over a cuppa at Glenella at 4.00pm for our usual meetup.

See you there!

What happened last month?

Last month's intimate Camino/Labyrinth picnic dinner

In October, Donna and Martin from the Blue Labyrinth Bush Retreat hosted the October Camino dinner.  It was an intimate affair with 18 people attending who all brought food to share, picnic style.  And afterwards everyone moved into the cosy Earth Room to listen to the guest speakers, Tristan Guzman from Sydney and Donna Mulhearn from the Blue Labyrinth Bush Retreat.  They provided interesting insights into both Caminos and labyrinths and most of the attendees took advantage of the early start to walk one of the several labyrinths to be found at the Bush Retreat.  Many thanks to Donna and Martin for making it such a memorable evening and thanks also to all who attended and brought delicious food to share.

Last month's Saturday walk

Helen, Sarah and Juan (from Sydney) enjoyed a lovely sunny day. They walked from Glenella to Fort Rock via Burton Street and the Blackheath Community gardens, ate lunch on the rock then headed down the Centennial Glen track to Walls Ledge. Then back up towards Shipley road.  It must have been everyone's busy day because no-one turned up at 4pm for the meet-up other than the three walkers so they enjoyed afternoon tea together and had a nice chat with Margaret from Glenella.

Thank you Helen for organising this walk and Margaret and Rowan from Glenella for the generous use of their space.

FAREWELL TO SUE

Well it's time to say goodbye to Sue Rauchfuss from the Admin team.  She's got big plans for next year so has decided to step down from being on the team for the Camino Group.

One of the roles she has is to prepare these newsletters so if anyone would like to come and join this fabulous group and learn to do these newsletters (very easy), please contact the admin team here.  Or even if you'd just like to be more involved in shaping the Group's future, please contact us.
