Our June Training Walk and Meetup
Top Row  Medium Walkers with a great old bus!
Bottom Row View of Hanging Rock from Baltzer Lookout; walking through the Rhododendron Gardens.
A fantastic turn out for our June training walk and Camino Meetup. There were people from Newcastle, various suburbs of Sydney and Blue Mountains villages. It was almost a full house at Glenella for the Open Camino Weekend. Twenty six walkers headed out to Baltzer Lookout (Hanging Rock) via the Rhododendron Gardens to see the great views out to the Grose Valley. Five took the Easier path through the Rhododendron Gardens and out to Govetts Leap Lookout before returning to Blackheath for the Camino Meetup..

It was great to see the bush regeneration through the Rhododendron Gardens which were burnt in the 2019 fires. Last time we walked out to Baltzers lookout was on a very hot November day in 2020 this time we had a chill in the air which made walking much easier.
Camino Stories
At this months Meetup we heard from 4 recently returned Pilgrims. Narelle having completed the Invierno, Diane the Frances, Pamela & Terry sections of the Norte and the Frances.
It was great to hear their Camino experiences, both the joys and the challenges!

We also heard via video from Susi of Casa Susi Albergue in Trabadelo on the Camino Frances.  If you missed it, you can watch it on the Blue Mountains Camino YouTube channel HERE.
New Volunteer Portal
Pictured:  Eileen and Richard who generously volunteered as Hospitaleros for our Blue Mountains Camino 5-Day Walk in March this year.

The Blue Mountains Camino Supporters have created a Volunteer Portal to provide opportunities for the Camino Community to be involved in our local Camino events.

We relish being able to offer opportunities for people to give back to the Camino Community, in recognition of all the Camino has given to so many.

There are opportunities to support our walks, get involved in our 5-Day Walks and much more! Thank you to those who have already registered, we appreciate your support.
