ENTREPRENEUR SOCIETIES TO EXPAND TO THE EASTERN CAPE’S BUFFALO CITY

We took our Entrepreneur Society roadshow to the Buffalo City Municipality in the Eastern Cape recently where we presented our programme to partners in government, as well as in the education sector. By all accounts it was a good meeting with teachers excited to roll Entrepreneur Societies out into their classrooms. Perhaps the most encouraging out-take of our visit was the heightened awareness and understanding of the impact that entrepreneurship potentially has to address the challenge of particularly youth unemployment.

We anticipate implementing Entrepreneur Societies into 6 pilot schools which have already been identified over the next few months, and growing the number of participating schools in the Eastern Cape more broadly.

If you wish to start the entrepreneurship movement at your school, club, or youth group, do contact us on 021 788 2775 or nadia.snyders@teenentrepreneur.co.za.

LEAP IN LANGA SPORTS NEW TEEN ENTREPRENEUR T-SHIRTS

The Leap Science and Maths School in Langa’s Entrepreneur Society is sporting new t-shirts, thanks to the kind support of the Rotary Club of Cape Town. Branded apparel ensures visibility of an Entrepreneur Society to fellow learners, even from other schools, and thereby promotes the programme to a broader community of young people.

Thank you, Rotary!

TEEN ENTREPRENEUR WAS ALSO AT THE ANZISHA SUMMIT THIS MONTH

The African Leadership Academy has made it possible for SA Teen Entrepreneur to be at the Anzisha Summit in Johannesburg on April 15 to share information about the work we do in schools. It is always wonderful to interact with like-minded people who share and support our vision.

PS. It was also Nadia’s maiden flight to Johannesburg, and she did admirably!

A CALL FOR SUPPORT

We believe in the work that we do, we see it changing the lives of young people, we see how they in turn are able to re-invest what they have learned into their communities.

We therefore call on our loyal readers/champions/partners/stakeholders to assist us in one or more of the following ways, so that we are able to reach more of our young people, and so that we can demonstrate, through the programme, that entrepreneurship has the potential to change their lives for the better.  Here’s how we’d like you to assist:

  • Put us in touch with the relevant people in business who might be looking for a worthy cause to support as part of their social investment programmes. We’d love an opportunity to present the work that we do to them, and to show them tangible examples of young people whose lives have been changed after completing our course.

  • Consider making a monthly contribution/donation towards the running of the programme. We will come and meet with you to take you through exactly how funds are being spent.

Thank you for your ongoing support!
