BIG DREAMS START YOUNG!

UNEMPLOYMENT FIGURES IN SOUTH AFRICA POINT TO THE NEED TO PROMOTE ENTREPRENEURSHIP, PARTICULARLY AMONGST OUR YOUTH

Unemployment in South Africa is on the rise.  Articles such as this one "Unemployment in South Africa is worse than you think" points to the fact that the crisis is deepening, thus exacerbating social challenges in our communities, and despair amongst our young people.  The need to promote entrepreneurship as a means of creating financial sustainability and as a source of employment creation has become critical.

Is it easy to get a business off the ground?  No.  Do you have to persevere and surround yourself with people who can encourage and support you?  Absolutely, yes!  It is possible to start a successful business that solves a need on your community; for more information about how we are able to help you, check out our website here: www.teenentrepreneur.co.za.  Or contact us on 021 788 2775.

If you’re reading this article and wish to support our youth entrepreneur programme, you can do so here: www.indiegogo.com, or share this link with influencers in your circle who are able to support us.  Thank you!

DATES TO DIARISE

Another great year; another Grand Finale!  Our final event for the year will take place on Saturday, 19 October at the Southern Sun Cape Sun.  Schools which have run Entrepreneur Societies this year will come and present their business ideas to a panel of judges who will adjudicate and select an overall winning business idea.

But this year there’s a twist!

We are inviting Entrepreneur Societies who previously participated in the programme, but who might not have had an opportunity to present at a Grand Finale, to come and present their business ideas, and to battle it out for the title of 2019 Teen Entrepreneur Champions.  If your society wants to take up this challenge, please contact us on nadia.snyders@teenentrepreneur.co.za or 02 788 2775 no later than Monday, 30 September 2019.

OUR ROTARY BOOKS HAVE ARRIVED IN SA!

We previously reported on our involvement with the ‘Rotary Learning Library’ project, and are pleased to report that the books have been printed and have arrived in South Africa.  We will have copies available at the Grand Finale; to acquire one of these books, we request that you make a donation of R 200.00 towards an Entrepreneur Society of your choice.  Contact us on 021 788 2775 to get your hands on a copy today!

TEACHER TRAINING IS ESSENTIAL TO THE SUCCESS OF OUR PROGRAMME

There is a saying that goes:
“A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination,
and instil a love of learning”
.

Dedicated and committed teachers are absolutely integral to our programme because they are our direct interface with our Entrepreneur Society members, and importantly, they promote entrepreneurship, and are responsible for sharing our content with our young learners. Exposure to entrepreneurship learnings also empowers our educators; not only can it broaden their scope and general knowledge, but can also add value to how they bring across lesson work in the classroom.

Do you see the value and importance of teaching entrepreneurship in schools? Do you want to play a role in developing our youth to their full potential? Do you embrace the principle of continuous learning? Then this course is for you!
