Sydney Road Gallery is proud to present our next group show: Pause and Reflect – opening this Thursday 18 July. Come and explore this extended, two-room exhibition showcasing the full suite of the SRG’s collective talent. You might find pieces by each of the nine exceptional artists behind the SRG name: Fiona Chandler whose ephemeral watercolour-and-ink compositions are one of SRG hallmarks; Amanda Tyacke and her critically acclaimed semi-geometrically abstracted landscapes; high-profile painter Jessica Watts and her stunning, internationally recognised Wallflower series; woven vine-sculptures by fibre-artist (and TED-speaker) Catriona Pollard; ceramicist extraordinaire, Tracy Dickason and her effortlessly charming earthenware creations; the unabashedly colour-saturated and glossy pop-esque acrylic paintings of Monique Tyacke; the photography of ABC-featured creator, Leonie Barton and the ephemeral installations those photos preserve; the meticulous, emotive and technically exceptional renderings by animal portraitist and environmentalist, Jaimee Paul and; the multilayered, multi-textured and beguiling mixed-media creations by etcher, lithographer, all-round print-maker and SRG’s in-house curator, Sarah Montgomery.

Rolling hills and snow capped mountains inspired painter Monique Tyacke on her recent trip to Queenstown NZ. The artist spent her evenings sitting by the fire drawing and painting the gorgeous scenery during her daily adventures. Here's some examples of Monique's graphically bold impressions of New Zealand's glorious mountain-scapes.
