On October 1st there were ICD-10 code changes
Please be aware of claim rejections for Diagnosis Codes that may now be inactive.
This would be for Dates of Services on/or after 10/1/2020
Did you get a claim rejected for the ICD-10 Diagnosis code?
65 codes were deleted from the 2021 ICD-10-CM code set, effective October 1, 2020
(This is for Dates of Service 10/1/2020 or later)
Sample:
ICD-10 Code R51 for a Headache cannot be used for Date of Service 10/1/2020 or later;
The new code is either: R51.9 Headache, unspecified, or:
R51.0 Headache with orthostatic component, not elsewhere classified
You can look up the new ICD-10 codes in Medisoft (added in Versions 21);
Click on New DX Code – then click on the ICD-10 Lookup
Enter in the old code, such as R51 & press enter on your keyboard.
Find the new code that you want to add & click on Save; This will add to Medisoft
