Florida ports host Congressional staff members

A delegation of congressional staff members from the offices of Florida’s House and Senate representatives met with leadership at Port Everglades and PortMiami two weeks ago. The educational tours and activities were coordinated by the Florida Ports Council to allow federal representatives a first-hand look at the positive impacts made by strategic infrastructure investments at Florida’s seaports. The delegation toured cruise terminal operations including an overview of facial recognition processing technology, boarded the cruise ship Carnival Sensation and held informal discussions with the state seaport security committee ....
