A tale I heard

Avengers actor Mark Ruffalo on Boris Johnson’s misappropriation of the Incredible Hulk. (Speaking in February 2020, the Prime Minister said he would break off the “manacles” of Europe and ‘The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets’):

"Boris Johnson forgets that the Hulk only fights for the good of the whole. Mad and strong can also be dense and destructive. The Hulk works best when he is in unison with a team, and is a disaster when he is alone."

A tale I saw

A tale I wrote

The walls were magnolia.
All I remember was my skin
was a thousand itches screaming pink.
I wanted to be anywhere else in the world.
You could have been,
but you gave up your lap for me.
You made up songs for me,
made up jokes for me,
explained that chickens can’t get chicken pox
and taught me a lifetime of manners
by smiling to the doctor
that we didn’t mind
waiting four hours for him.
You let me scratch against his orders
and fed me ice cream in the caravan
as Hayley and Andrew had fun in the pool.
You did the same for them
when they caught it two weeks later.
