A tale I heard

Overheard in the street:

“I don't mind a pigeon. Knew a lady once who had a pigeon break into her house every day for about a year. Eventually she got so fed up she just started feeding it and bathing it and ended up living with it for 15 years. It used to sit on her shoulder and nibble her ear.

A tale I wrote

"Wait. What? No way.
You're having a giraffe...
You're having a giraffe!"

said the midwife,
to my wife.

It was an odd dream to dream
but the more I think about it,
we could do a lot worse
than having a giraffe.

Beige bulb-less lampposts,
Walking skyscrapers,

What meerkats strive to be.

A table with knees (and a neck),
If the Eiffel Tower had lungs,
Christmas trees of the Savanna.

My wife loves Christmas.
