A bunch of tales I wanted to share with you

A tale I read

The Kitchen Counter by Ellen Bass

A tale I heard

Comedian Joe Wilkinson on his life:

"I like my little mundane life. I get home, me and my missus will have a glass of wine and watch an ITV drama - we don’t watch comedy because she knows how I react to it - but we watch documentaries about the Nazis and murder.

Outwardly it must look like quite a bizarre life, being a comedian on TV, but I’m down the tip a lot more than most people. I do a lot of tip runs."

A tale I saw

Intermission by Simon de Glanville

A tale I wrote

My mashed potato came to life.
I had so many questions:
How did it feel to be peeled?
Was the masher gentle to you?
What’s it like being half butter?
What are you scared of most –
my teeth, my guts or my anus?
Do you mind if I put gravy on you?
Do you have any last words?
No comment, it said, every time.
