Join us for breakfast and an opportunity to chat and deepen our connections as we explore together the theme of confidence. We'll do this through bible reflection, testimony from a cross section of women and time to consider together how it applies into our own lives. Do come along and support and learn from those who are bravely sharing their experiences.
Please encourage each other along and help make it welcoming and safe for each other. Breakfast will be from 8.30am and the main session from 9.00am. Lindfield Christian Care Home is 30
Lindfield Christian Care Home was set up 30 years ago by a team comprising members of Lindfield’s three churches. The staff continue to provide a warm, caring environment with a Christian ethos at the care home in Compton House. They are supported by volunteers including some from our church.
Our annual service of thanksgiving will take place at the United Reformed Church on Sunday 6 November at 3.00pm, followed by refreshments. The speaker will be Rev Steve Nichols. All are welcome to come and celebrate our 30th anniversary.
Sound Engineer Training
Are you interested in Sound Engineering at our Sunday services? On Sunday 20 November at 2.30pm our current sound team are meeting for one hour for a time of team building and training. If you're not on our team but would be interested in exploring the role, then you are welcome to join us on that day to get a sense of what's involved and meet others in the team. Please get in touch with Chris: chris.steynor@lindfield.info.
Seniors’ Pastor
I am sharing some rather sad news. Carrie Britton, our Seniors’ Pastor is going to retire at the end of November. Carrie has poured herself out in a remarkable way at All Saints, strengthening and developing the ministry among our senior members, leading a wonderful team of volunteers, caring for so many and navigating with faith and wisdom through the challenges of the last three years.
Carrie promised James Clarke that she would serve for five years. Sadly, those five years are now up, and Carrie would now like to retire. However, I am delighted to say that she and Nigel will remain at All Saints as greatly loved members of the fellowship.
We will, of course, have opportunities to thank Carrie publicly for all she has done in her role in due course, but please do be praying for her in these next busy weeks.
Jennie Herring and Ken and Katherine Markham are going to act as joint-leaders of the Tiger@Ten team until April 2023 following Carrie's retirement, by which time we hope we might have a new Seniors’ Pastor. Steve Nichols
September PCC Update
The PCC met on Monday. The major item on the agenda was the draft budget for the year ahead. We are very grateful to our Treasurer, Rob Kingdom and the Finance Committee for their hard work in preparing this. The PCC expects to vote on it at its October meeting.
We also received reports from the Tiger Project Group and were grateful that Simon Head could be present to answer questions at the meeting. We were glad to hear that repairs to the Tiger Hall walls were completed over the summer and grateful to the group. The PCC also agreed to the group's recommendations that the existing boiler be retained for its lifetime, with a view to installing a more environmentally friendly alternative in future.
The Organ Review Group, under Alan Carter's leadership, brought a recommendation to the PCC of Church Organ World to rebuild the church organ at a cost of £60,000 + VAT. It was the better (and also cheaper) of the two quotes and the PCC approved it. There are still a few things to be done before work can begin, but it is hoped these are relatively straightforward.
The following were approved with thanks as communion servers: Naa Maine; Oli Taylor; Jennie Herring; Hannah Laflin; Mark and Sarah Neller; Matt Easley; Laurence Trigwell.
Harvest update
Thank you to all those who joined us last weekend for the Harvest Supper and in thinking about climate change in the Sunday services. If you missed Steve's sermon or would like to hear it again, you can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXgpcMyQ0UE&t=238s
We are encouraging everyone to see what small changes they can do to make a difference by taking the 7-day climate challenge. More about that can be found here: https://www.tearfund.org/campaigns/the-lets-change-the-climate-challenge

God's Better Story (SGP Conference)
The Sussex Gospel Partnership annual conference will be held on Saturday 5 November (10am-3.30pm) at All Saints Crowborough. This year's theme is "God’s Better Story: For a world wrestling with identity, sexuality and gender", with main speak Andrew Bunt from Living Out. Pray for the Autumn Women’s Retreat at Ashburnham Place for ministers’ wives and female church staff members in pastoral and Bible-teaching ministries:
Pray for the speaker, Claire Heath-Whyte, as she opens up God’s word, so that those attending may be built up by the teaching
Pray especially that they may be encouraged by fellowship with others in similar roles. In some small churches their position can be a very lonely one.
Pray for good attendance and a time of fellowship, learning and encouragement at the Annual Conference on Saturday 5 November with the theme, ‘God’s better story for a world wrestling with identity, sex and gender.’
Pray that the day will encourage and equip us to live faithfully for Jesus in our contemporary context
Pray for those leading talks, seminars and “Question and Answer” sessions as they prepare
Pray that the change of venue this year, from Burgess Hill to Crowborough, may not discourage those who have to travel from more distant parts of Sussex.
PRAYER Simon and Becky Lunt prayer meeting postponed
We are postponing THIS Sunday’s prayer meeting for the Lunts as Simon has contracted Covid and he and Becky cannot be with us. A new date will be arranged soon. Guy Rowland, Ropeholder
