News and Events

Congratulations!

Our love and congratulations to Hugh, Ali, Harry, Isaac and George Bourne  on the safe arrival of Patrick Edward John born on 16 June weighing 8lb exactly.  Mum and baby are well.

Our new vicar!

We are delighted to announce that the Rev Dr Stephen Nichols (Steve) has been appointed as our new Vicar from September 2021. Steve is married to Katy and they have four children – John (11), Simeon (9), Charlotte (6) and Toby (6). Steve is currently one of the Associate Rectors at All Souls, Langham Place in London.
Steve’s licensing service will take place on Thursday 2 September at 7.30pm –further details will follow once we know more on numbers/Covid regulations.

Please do be praying for them in the following ways:
·         Finishing well at All Souls and saying goodbyes
·         Some time for proper rest between jobs
·         House move and all the practical arrangements that come with that
·         Children school places
·         That through all of this they would be assured of God going ahead and making His plans for them
More information can be found on our website All Saints Lindfield : Our New Vicar

Noah's Ark Relaunch!

We are really excited to be relaunching Noah's Ark on Wednesday 23 June at 10.00am.
If you are 0-4 years old, bring a grown up to the main church building for play, singing and story time. As we find our feet in a new location, we would love our church families to come, test the new layout and give us some feedback. To attend you need to book online at:  https://allsaintslindfield.churchsuite.com/events/azc2rsyd
We look forward to seeing you there.

For those who sing

I am exploring how this Autumn we might launch a set of new, rejuvenated singing and choir ministries to serve the worship at All Saints. I would love your help to explore what might be possible, and so we're holding a short conference on Saturday 26 June from 8.45am –11.00am, in the church, for anyone who may be interested in singing for contemporary or classical worship as part of a choir or singing group. You can visit allsaintslindfield.org/music for more information. At sign up there is an option to 'Register Interest' if you would like to join the discussion but are unable to make the day. This invite is particularly for those who have a passion for singing but, for whatever reason, don't feel the right opportunity has been available so far. Come join us!

Women Together pop-up cafe

Our pop-up cafe is on Saturday 3 July from 3.00-5.00pm in the vicarage garden. It will be an afternoon relaxing in the vicarage garden over Pimm's and cake, with plenty of time to chat. This is our first event back together, so whether you are new to All Saints or just looking forward to seeing faces you've missed, you are very welcome. Bring a chair if you are able and we'll provide the rest.
In the light of ongoing restrictions, we are running this event as a pop-up cafe. We'll set tables for groups of six and provide waitress service. This will mean we can go over the upper limit of 30 for private functions. We hope you will feel reassured that this can still be a safe and happy occasion. In the case of very hot or rainy weather we have the church reserved. So do book your place. The team are looking forward to welcoming you.
Please sign up using this link https://allsaintslindfield.churchsuite.com/events/ugzwwbsh
or by contacting the church office on 01444 482405.

Welcome Tea

We are holding our first in-person welcome tea for over a year on Sunday 4 July in the afternoon in the Tiger lounge. These welcome teas give people who are new to All Saints a chance to hear more about us and to meet a few members as well as the clergy. If you have started visiting All Saints in the last few months at in-person church services, or watched our services online – we would love the opportunity to get to know you a little better and to share something of what All Saints is all about. If you would like to be invited, please get in touch with the church office (01444 482405) or email: sarah@lindfield.info

Guest speaker: Bishop of Horsham

We are looking forward to welcoming Ruth Bushyager as our guest speaker on Sunday 11 July at our evening service.  Ruth has been the Bishop of Horsham for the last year, and was previously vicar of St Paul's Dorking, where she helped establish the 'Creation Care' scheme. She will be speaking on this theme and helping us see why and how Christians can get involved in caring for God's world. The service begins at in church at 6.00pm and will be also livestreamed.
Stuart Silk, Associate Vicar

BEYOND ALL SAINTS

Ensemble Reza

Ensemble Reza are looking forward to opening the concert doors and welcoming audiences on Saturday 26 June, to All Saints Church, Lindfield at 4.00pm and 7.00pm for the first time in over 16 months.
Having run more than 62 virtual concerts in the last year, these performances will be very special, and the group have planned a fantastic all Russian programme with Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence and Arensky’s Quartet No. 2 in A minor Op. 35.
To maintain social distancing in the church, these concerts will have limited seating capacity, and the 4.00pm concert will be a ‘relaxed performance’.  This will be perfect for children and anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed environment.
Tickets will need to be purchased in advance from the box office:
 www.ticketsource.co.uk/ensemble-reza
They cost £15, £10, £5 and 18s and under are £1 for the 4.00pm performance. Ensemble Reza is a Registered Charity (no 1158708).

Family Support Work: Luctons Open Garden

The West Hoathly garden will be open on Saturday 26, Sunday 27 and Tuesday 29 June.
A visit to the garden and a home made tea will support the work of FSW. Admission £5 adults, children free.

MISSION
Tearfund Prayer Group

For some time a small prayer group has supported Tearfund and Sarah Newnham in her role within the organisation. Now that Sarah has left Tearfund we feel it is an appropriate time to ask if others wish to join a group that continues to pray for the work of Tearfund. We will meet every couple of months or so but may also circulate specific prayer requests via email or WhatsApp in between. If you wish to commit to this group we would ask that you keep up to date with what is happening in Tearfund via Tear Times and the Prayer Diary. If you would like to join the group please email me at richardpainter@hotmail.co.uk or phone on 01444 455687 if you are not on email. Richard PainterTearfund Prayer Group Coordinator

  • Give thanks for protection for all the Medair staff in Goma, DR Congo during the recent volcano eruption. Please pray for the team as they look to support people who have lost their homes in the lava flows.
  • Medair now has an emergency response team in the Tigray region of Ethiopia following the violence and displacement. Please pray for the team’s safety, for more funding and for the success of their operations.

  • Give thanks that Medair has been able to start a COVID vaccination programme in Lebanon for 90,000 people.

  • Please pray for Katie, Esther and Tally as the end of the school year approaches; for a good end to the term and a fun summer. Please pray for some good ‘staycation’ activities in Switzerland.

  • Please pray for Phil and Sarah as they juggle work, life and the girls!
