NEWS AND EVENTS

Appointment of a Facilities Manager

Ashley BenceI'm delighted to be able to tell you that we have appointed a full-time Facilities Manager to join the team at All Saints: Ashley ('Ash') Bence. Ash and his wife, Cathy already come to Cornerstone from time to time and they will be moving churches to join us in the near future.
Ash comes with enormous experience as the Centre Manager of King's Church in Burgess Hill, where he has overseen the welcoming into their building of numbers of community groups, serving the local community as a pathway for the gospel. Not only that, but Ash has significant experience in project-managing roofing projects and with our own Tiger roofing project approaching, we see the Lord's wonderful provision in him joining us now.
Do pray for Ash and Cathy as they leave the church family at King's and join us here. Pray for Ash as he takes up responsibilities with us on 18th July. And pray too for King's. Our gain is their loss and we have offered to do all we can to make the transition as smooth for them as we can.
Steve Nichols

Live Streaming: 19 June

This Sunday we will live-stream the 11.15am service. In addition, we will live stream the Confirmation service at 6.00pm. Given that this service will prominently feature people under the age of 18, we will not make this service publicly available. If you would like to watch, you will be able to find the service here: https://youtu.be/RQqsdkf-gJ0

From Cliff Hollebon

“A very big thank you to all who attended and helped at Rita's Thanksgiving Service. The flowers were wonderful, the attendance was nearly 200 people and the Lords presence was very evident. Thank you all, Cliff.”

Men United

We have decided to reinstate an occasional Men United breakfast at the Bent Arms in addition to what we do in church. The idea is for this to be a more informal breakfast, simply a chance to have fellowship and enjoy a breakfast together. The first one will be on Saturday 2 July at 8.30am. Booking will be through: Men United Breakfast (02-Jul-2022) · ChurchSuite Events Places are slightly more limited at the pub so if you want to come, please get booked early to guarantee yourself a place. We will be asking for donations to cover costs with the Bent Arms, suggested donation for a full breakfast – £9.00, tea/coffee & toast – £4.00.

Women Together Pimm's and Pudding

The Women Together team warmly invite you to our summer event on Saturday 2 July at 8.00-9.30pm in the church. We're having an evening of Pimm's and pudding along with plenty of time to chat and testimony from Katy Nichols. If you're new to All Saints, we'd love to meet you and introduce you to people. This is also a good opportunity to invite a friend along.

Volunteers needed for school assemblies

We need People to join the team to do assemblies at Blackthorns School on a Tuesday afternoon and at Lindfield Primary School on a Wednesday morning. If you can do either of those days we would be grateful for your help. Even if you can only do once a term that would be super.
Please contact Val Upton on: valerie.upton@btinternet.com or the church office on 482405 for more information.

Parking

As we know, parking on a Sunday morning is not always easy especially between the two morning services. If you are able, please can we encourage you to park a little further away from the church, to enable those who are less mobile or visiting for the first time to find a space in the church car park. There are often spaces available on the High Street, at the park on Hickmans Lane and at the Bent Arms pub. Please don't be put off by the signs, Howard the landlord is very happy for those attending church to park there until 12noon.

MISSION
Mission Partner Focus: Tearfund

Please give thanks for
Tearfund’s support of local partners, across the world but particularly in Brazil, to engage with a UN campaign calling for fair and equal access to Covid-19 vaccines; we give thanks that through the provision of financial support this will help the restoration of lives and livelihoods for all those affected

The local church across the world, particularly in Ukraine. We thank God for Tearfund’s work supporting partners through Church and Community Transformation initiatives responding to the needs of poor people in practical and sustainable ways, using their God-given potential and resources

The impact that Tearfund is having in its effort to support sustainable livelihoods at the same time as protecting the environment, mitigating the adverse effects of climate change and reducing economic inequality. 65,000 people have been trained in innovative farming techniques to increase food production in Mozambique and over 5,000 people have benefited from new community-based waste management services in Pakistan.

Please pray for
Tearfund and their local partners working in Ethiopia where there has been an immense drought, that they will be able to get food, clean water and essential supplies to people facing hunger and thirst.  Pray for rain to finally fall and crops to grow again

In these desperate circumstances, families may resort to marrying their daughters off to wealthier families. Pray for protection over young girls who are at risk of child marriage, that they will be able to continue their education and that they will be valued as God's precious children by their communities

The people of Afghanistan where over 90% of the population are on the brink of severe hunger. Pray for Tearfund's partners distributing food and providing mental health support in dangerous circumstances.
Ropeholder Peter Desmond
