Drop-in café

For the first four Mondays in August (1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd) we're going to be running a drop-in café in the Tiger lounge. We'll be open from 9.00am until 12noon. It's a simple opportunity to pop out and have a chat with others. Why not invite a friend who might otherwise be on their own? If you've got little ones, there will be a small area for them to have a play too.
During this time (9.30–10.30am) we'll also be running English language lessons for our Ukrainian friends in some other rooms in the Tiger. Do come along for a cuppa, catch up and a chance to meet new people, both from here and Ukraine.

Church office hours over summer

During the school summer holidays, office staff will be taking some annual leave, so the Tiger office will be open from 9.00am – 11.30am Monday to Friday only until 31 August. if you want to visit the office outside of these hours, best to ring first.  Sarah Hagger

This week, Rachel Cole and James Johnson, with their children Joe and Emma, are moving to Taunton, where James will be Head of Taunton School. We pray for the move to be as smooth and happy as possible, for the children to settle into their new school in September, and for Rachel as she continues her work at Great Ormond Street. We send them with much love, especially from Rachel's connect group and "prayer square"!

Are you an Organ Donor?

You may be aware that the planned 25-year lifespan of the internal digital processors, the amplifiers and the speaker systems of our wonderful church organ is now up. An electronic organ, it is still running on Windows 95 and is beginning to fail. A small group led by Alan Carter is investigating the cost of refurbishing and rebuilding the organ later this year - likely to be £50-60,000. In addition to our ongoing expenses, the PCC and Finance Committee are aware of the significant cost of the Tiger project facing us by 2026 (some £500,000) and would like to preserve as much of our legacy fund as possible for this. Therefore, if you would like to make a special gift towards the cost of the church organ it would be a huge help and very gratefully received. You can do this in a number of ways:
1. By online banking, marking your payment "Church Organ".  The church bank details are as follows:
Parochial Church Council All Saints Church Lindfield
Sort code: 20-49-76
Account number: 20623474
2. By cheque, made payable to "PCC All Saints Church Lindfield" and sent to the church office with the reference "Church Organ" marked for the attention of the Treasurer.
3. Via the "giving" tab on the church website, clicking on "Donate with churchsuite" and then selecting "Church Organ" from the dropdown list of available funds.
If you have any questions about donating towards this project please contact the Church Treasurer, Rob Kingdom, either by email ( or by telephone (07714 226700). If you would like to know anything more about the project, please contact Alan Carter.
It is hoped that after the organ work is finished, we might hold a fund-raising concert or two to offset some of the cost and to launch a new chapter in concerts and events.

'My Questions'

What should it feel like to be a Christian? Does prayer actually make a difference? Does the Christian faith have anything to do with my workplace? Why don't I enjoy reading the Bible?
This autumn you are invited to explore questions about the Christian faith that you always wanted to ask, but perhaps never felt able to. We'll select one question to explore together each week over a meal. If you have a question, please do add it to the mix. Either fill out a paper form on Sunday, or follow the link below and submit your question online, anonymously if you wish:  We'll meet on Wednesdays in September. Further details, including start date and how to join will he published in the new few weeks.

Mission Partner Focus: Cross Mission in India

It has been reported that 2021 was the most violent year against Christians in India. It is against this backdrop that we pray for the work of Cross Mission.
Praise God for the 38 baptisms last month across the Cross Mission network. Pray that all these Christians will grow in their faith. Pray particularly for those from Hindu backgrounds which can be very challenging.
Praise God for the new conversions among the Banjara tribes people. Pray for the 25 Church Planters being trained and for new fellowships to be established among this people group.
Pray for the new Bible Training Centre in Ravulapallem and the pastor's starting a one-year course.
Praise God that the new church building in Mamidikuduru is now being used. Pray for the resources for its final completion.
Pray for the House of Joy orphanage and the 30 children being cared for.
Praise God that 300 children are now back at the school continuing to receive an excellent standard of education. Pray for the finances needed to complete the work required by the new government guidelines.
Praise God for the ministry of pastor Mohan over the last 30 plus years. Pray for continuing good health and fruitfulness for him and his wife, Maria.

Prayer for our community and nation

Please join us on Saturday mornings, 8.45am to 9.30am at Lindfield Evangelical Church.

Praying for the church family

Please continue to hold in your prayers those known to you who may be especially in need of God's comfort at this time and especially for:

Beth and Will Leonard
On 8 August Beth will be having spinal surgery to try and fix her prolapsed disc (having first ‘slipped’ it in February this year), and she and Will would be grateful for prayer for the surgery to go smoothly and without any complications.

Al and Sarah Paxton
Please continue to pray for Al.

Pam Palles-Clark
Suffering from a bad back.
