Memberships start at $10.00 for an individual. If you are not a member, you can sign up for a membership at the door to take advantage of the preview sale.

Monday, November 5th

  • 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Preschool Storytime
Children will build literacy skills while having fun with 30 minutes of interactive stories, songs, and rhymes followed by a craft or activity. Geared toward ages 2-5 but siblings welcome.
  • 4:00-5:30 p.m. Chess Time
  • 6:30 p.m. When There’s Good to Be Done
Curtis & Loretta present original story-songs of Minnesota unsung heroes. Loretta sought out and interviewed real-life people who overcame seemingly insurmountable challenges and came out stronger for the journey. Husband and wife duo Curtis Teague and Loretta Simonet deliver beautiful harmonies, and play several instruments, including folk harp, guitars, mandocello, and banjo. This program, sponsored by Arrowhead Library System, was funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Tuesday, November 6th
  • 3:45-4:45 p.m. Lego Club Open Build 
Kids of all ages can drop in to practice STEM skills, stretch their creativity, and have fun together with Legos! Program alternates each week between open building with regular and Duplo blocks from 4pm-5pm (fun for all ages) and constructing step-by-step architecture or robotics kits (geared toward ages 7 and up) from 4:30pm-5:30pm.
  • 5:00-6:30 p.m. Library Board Meeting
Wednesday, November 7th
  • 4:00-5:30 p.m. Create a Hand-Stamped Cuff Bracelet
Learn two different jewelry techniques in this hands-on workshop: Jewelry Stamping and Metal Bending. Create a personalized, hand-stamped cuff bracelet in class! All supplies included. For adult and teen patrons, 15 and older. Limited spaces available. Registration required. Continuing the theme of Minnesota books and authors, the next Evening Book Group discussion will be of this enduring novel from 1920. A satirical novel of the conventions of small-town life, with the fictional Gopher Prairie modeled on Lewis' hometown of Sauk Centre, Minnesota.  
  • 6:30-8:00 p.m. 5 Keys to Retiring Fearlessly
Turn retirement concerns into confidence. After working hard each week to get to TGIF, retirement may be in sight. Discover five keys to unlocking a retirement that’s free from worry, where you can have full confidence in your ability to achieve your goals. This session is hosted by Thrivent Financial representative Jeff Hakala, FIC, RICP®, CLTC®. Refreshments will be served.

Bring your friends for a night of poetry, games, and pizza. Play Haikubes and Paint Chip Poetry, or try your hand at Magnetic Poetry. Write a poem about the amazingness of donuts or the craziness of the squirrel in your backyard—the world of poetry is endless! Grades 5-12.
  • 6:30-8:00 p.m. Author Talk - Anthony Bukoski
Join us for discussion and readings from Anthony Bokoski’s book, “Head of the Lakes,” his newest collection of powerful and haunting short stories set in Superior, Wisconsin. Coffee, tea, and cocoa will be served.  This program is supported by the Two Harbors Friends of the Library.

Two Harbors resident Katya Gordon’s 2nd
book, “Climate Change Musings and Studies from Lake Superior’s North Shore,” is an easy read intended to help regular people along the North Shore connect the dots between climate change and what they see happening around them—and then see themselves as agents of change. Katya will read from the book and show a few slides of the things she’s learned along the way about how our warming earth is affecting Lake
Superior and the boreal forest.
