Final, Crucial Push for our Democratic Trifecta - Priorities & Tactics!
Andrew O'Neill
Indivisible's Associate Director for Economic Justice

In the few remaining weeks of our Democratic trifecta, we have the chance to push through crucial legislation to set ourselves up as well as possible in implementing, defending and expanding our progressive values.

What are these priority bills (think Electoral Count Act, Debt Ceiling & more), and what can we do to get them passed while we still have both chambers??

Join IN-SLWM, Monday, December. 5th, 7-8pmET
 to hear Indivisible National's
Associate Director for Economic Justice, Andrew O'Neill
lay out the legislation we need and
the tactics we can use to get them passed NOW!

Re-elect GA Sen. Raphael Warnock, and Expand Our Senate Majority!
Having a 51-seat majority, vs a 50-50 tie makes a HUGE difference!  With a clear majority, Dems will have the majority of seats on all Senate committees, helping to move legislation (and nominations!) through more easily, and the chamber will be less beholden to one stubborn Dem. hold-out to get bills passed.

There's still time for us to help push Warnock over the finish line!

In the run-off election let's make sure we hold Sen. Warnock's seat and expand our Senate majority, so we can get more pro-democracy judges confirmed and legislation passed!

Final Postcard Campaign for Georgia

Dear Defenders of Democracy,

This will be our last postcard blast before the GA runoff election, in support of the re-election of Senator Warnock. We are all in!  4,000 cards available, “Defend Choice” postcards going to registered Georgia voters; Black women who have not recently voted. This postcard campaign gives these women the opportunity to get their voices heard regarding Reproductive Freedom.  The Republican candidate in this race would work to destroy not only reproductive freedom, but our very democracy!

Your task would be to place pre-printed address labels onto large, eye-catching postcards, add a 60-cent stamp, and write 4 words: “Dear Miss (voter’s last name)”***see below and your first name). Most volunteers report that they can do 75 to 90 cards per hour: or less than 1 minute per card.  The text on the image below has been modified for the run-off election.

There is no charge for the cards/labels, in packets of 50; 50–60 cent stamps (for large postcards) are $30. Subsidies are available (see form).

Order your cards at this link. They will be available to pick up starting on Friday, November 19.  Please pick them up and mail as soon as possible.

An earlier Georgia project, organized by the same team, sent out 85.000 postcards.  Post-election data showed that the project had nearly 4 times the impact of most other large-scale postcard /letter campaigns.  By their analysis, every stack of 250 cards produced 6 Democratic voters!  This translates into a bit more than 2 voters per hour of volunteer time. They are very optimistic about the impact you can have by joining this project!

Many thanks for considering participation in this exciting campaign!
Best wishes,
Marta for Indivisible Northampton-Swing Left Western Ma

Other Ways to Pitch In
Sign the Petition

Enacted after the Civil War, Section 3 of the 14th Amendment disqualifies from public office any individual who has taken an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution and then engages in insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or gives aid or comfort to those who have.

By inciting a violent attack on Congress in an effort to prevent the certification of his own electoral defeat, Donald Trump engaged in insurrection and violated his oath of office. Free Speech For People and Our Revolution have teamed up to urge Secretaries of State and chief election officials across the country to follow the mandate of Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment and bar insurrectionists from any future ballot.

You can read more about it here, and add your name to their petition here.

Sign here to tell Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin to abide by Section 3 of the 14th Amendment and bar Trump from appearing on any future ballot in MA.

And read about this success in New Mexicowhere citizens filed suit and a County Commissioner was removed from office as a result of his participation in the Jan. 6th insurrection!

Fundraising & Letter Writing for the Runoff

With barely a day to catch our breath after Election Day, we all found ourselves mobilizing again for the Georgia runoff election. To save time, we didn’t wait to set up new accounts so we could track donations; we just sent out one link to donate directly to the Warnock campaign and another to Movement Voter Project’s Georgia Fund, supporting grassroots groups working in Georgia to get out the vote for Rev. Warnock. More than 25 people responded, and though I don’t know how much was contributed, I know in my heart that they were as generous as they were during the general election.

Vote Forward also moved quickly to organize a letter-writing campaign to infrequent Georgia voters. More than 30 volunteers stepped up to write over 2,100 letters in less than three weeks, urging recipients to vote on December 6.

Many thanks to all who participated in this last-minute push.

These are only two of the ways IN-SLWM immediately responded to the challenge of this runoff. We’re so fortunate to live in a community of such generous and committed folks!
