Hi friends!
Based on people's responses from last week and the number of layoffs since then, I thought I'd stay on the topic a little longer. In the last seven days, more companies have let employees go and/or announced hiring freezes, but yet... I'm still hearing about companies who need help with hiring! (Yes, I promise it's not all grim!)
Over the next few weeks, I will do my very best to contact every team we work with to get up-to-date information about their hiring situation and share it with you. If you have specific questions that you think I can help answer, I welcome you to send them my way, too. It's times like these when I care most about being as helpful and useful as possible, so don't be shy to tell me how to do that. I'll do what I can! 👍
And I know it's been a long while since I've done this, but in case anyone wants to chat... let's do it!
I might be able to make intros and offer advice, but if not, I can at the very least provide a pep talk and be a sounding board. If you're new, the only rule is that you can't book multiple slots (there aren't many to begin with!), but I'm otherwise happy to chat about anything you'd like, whether you're applying for new jobs, building up the courage to change careers, or just looking to shoot the 💩 with someone. First come, first served. You can schedule time here.
Otherwise, if you're looking for a fresh start, here are more companies that are currently hiring:

Newfront (profile) 📍 San Francisco, CA or Remote (PST preferred)
Provides relocation support. Sponsors work authorizations.
Newfront is building software to modernize the trillion-dollar insurance industry. They raised a $200M Series D in April just seven months following their merger that valued the combined company at $1.35B, and in that short time, they grew their enterprise value by almost another billion dollars. Their engineers continue to work closely with virtually every other department, and the team continues to grow! 🚀

AngelList (profile) 📍 Remote (Global)
May provide relocation support. May sponsor work authorizations.
AngelList is a platform for investors, fund managers, and founders looking to build and invest in the next generation of startups. You might remember AngelList Talent, which branched out as Wellfound earlier this week. AngelList has since rolled out their new site and eliminated carry fees on platform LPs. Their global team is growing and working on the edge of VC, defining the future of the industry!

Brex (profile) 📍 Remote (US, Canada, Israel, and Brazil)
Provides relocation between Canada and the U.S. Sponsors work authorizations.
Brex provides credit cards and spend management software for businesses. They closed a $300M Series D-2 round earlier this year, and soon after decided to discontinue serving small to medium businesses (SMBs) to focus on enterprise. As a result, they restructured and made layoffs in October. They have many years of runway and are now hiring for this new (and exciting!) chapter.

Remix (profile) 📍 New York, NY or San Francisco, CA
May provide relocation support. Sponsors work authorizations.
Remix is a collaborative mapping platform for transportation decision-making. As part of the Via family, they’re working to reduce carbon emissions and ensure everyone has access to affordable methods of transportation. They partner closely with customers like local city governments to understand their pain points, and devs work hand-in-hand with designers. Engineers, PMs, and designers, check 'em out.

Airtable (profile) 📍 San Francisco, Mountain View, NYC, Austin, or Remote (US)
Provides relocation support and sponsors work authorizations on a case-by-case basis.
Airtable helps teams build and customize apps based on company work data, no code required. They’re launching several new features in early 2023, including data map (to visualize data points) and two-way sync (to automatically upload data across multiple apps). If you're looking for a culture with strong written and asynchronous practices, Airtable has ~20 open engineering roles at the moment. 👀

Upstatement (profile) 📍 Remote (US)
Does not provide relocation support. Sponsors work authorizations.
Upstatement is a digital product studio that helps companies create websites, apps, and creative tools. Last week, they joined the kyu Collective to make The New Editorial, which will help organizations tell their stories and expand their communities. Each studio will operate independently, which means Upstatement will still prioritize creativity and work/life balance (Fridays are for personal development!).
